In the early 1950s, Silvio Carta founded the company bearing his name in Baratili San Pietro, dedicating himself from the very beginning to the region’s most traditional wine: Vernaccia di Oristano, a unique grape that embodies nobility and generosity in equal measure.

More than 70 years later, Silvio and his son Elio — who has long helmed the family business — continue their devotion to crafting the finest Vernaccia di Oristano DOC.

However, the portfolio has since expanded. Today, Silvio Carta is equally renowned for its ‘Riserva’ Mirto, London Dry Gin, Vermouth, Whisky and traditional spirits, exporting these precious tastes of Sardinia to the rest of the world.
