The story of Tenute Perda Rubia began in 1949 when Mario Mereu opened his own cellar, becoming the very first producer to bottle wine in the province of Nuoro.

From that moment, the estate focused its efforts on Cannonau, creating the celebrated Perda Rubia wine. The founder’s legacy was continued by his son, Renato Mereu. Under his stewardship, the estate expanded to include new vineyards and continued to flourish, all while remaining steadfastly true to its identity and avoiding aggressive viticultural practices.

In 2014, guided by the third generation, the company adopted its current structure. Today, the vineyard area covers 20 hectares planted with Vermentino, Nuragus, Semidano, and Cannonau. Perda Rubia itself is crafted as a pure Cannonau from ungrafted vines – maintaining a direct, deeply romantic connection with the soil through ancient cultivation methods.
